Rheem rooftop solar hot water system repair Hills District.

In the recent Sydney storms, the roof on this Castle Hill customer’s home encountered such extensive hail damage that it had to be replaced with a new one. Their old rooftop solar hot water system was also trashed beyond repair.

Once the new roof was in place, we were contacted to install a new solar hot water heater.  The original system was a very old 440L tank which adequately catered to their household hot water usage requirements. Tanks of this size are no longer manufactured so we contacted the customer’s insurer direct and were able to negotiate the supply and installation of 2 x 300L stainless steel Rheem solar systems – all paid for by the insurer.   Rheem’s Colorbond range meant we were able to match the colour to the customer’s brand new roof.

Needless to say the customer was very happy with the result and we think the photos below highlight how stylish the Rheem stainless steel solar Colorbond range looks.

Rheem Solar Hot Water System Installation

Do your bit for the planet and save energy at the same time! Go solar with Rheem solar hot water system in a range of Colorbond colours to suit the architecture and colour palette of your home. The outer casing of every Rheem storage tank is constructed from weatherproof COLORBOND® steel. Rheem offer a choice of four contemporary COLORBOND® steel colours with their modern design roof mounted range.

The storage cylinders for all Rheem roof-mounted hot water systems are made of quality stainless steel which acts as a natural barrier to corrosion. Most conventional water heaters are made of steel which requires a sacrificial anode for protection whereas the anti-corrosive properties of stainless steel mean that an anode is not necessary – therefore they require less maintenance.

Stainless steel is prominent in most kitchens for its purity, aesthetics, ease of maintenance and corrosion resistance. It is reassuring to know that inside every Rheem roof-mounted storage cylinder your hot water is kept in a hygienic environment ready for your family’s everyday hot water needs.

Switching to solar hot water and claiming STC rebates

The Federal Government introduced the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme to encourage individuals and small businesses to install renewable energy systems in their home or business.

Solar hot water heaters and air source heat pumps are appliances that are applicable to claim rebates under the scheme.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO STC REBATES

From 1st January 2022, the Deeming Period for the installation of solar hot water heaters and heat pumps is changing and will be reduced by 10% compared to an equivalent installation in 2021.  The Deeming Period will be reduced by one year, each year, until the scheme ends in December 2030. If you’ve been considering switching to solar hot water, it’s paramount you do so ASAP to take advantage of the STC rebates.  Contact our solar experts for advice.
